President's Day Fun

For President's Day this year we decided to mold Hallie's young mind by taking her to Kid's Quest Children's Museum in Bellevue. Actually, we weren't as interested in molding her mind as we were getting her out of her comfort zone. She still gets pretty scared in new places, especially when there is a lot of noise. She did fairly well at the museum, but there were a couple of areas that she definitely did not want to explore. After a bit of coaxing, she agreed to play in the water area, and ended up having a really good time. We did have one incident when she slipped and hit her face on the edge of a large rock. She got a pretty nice battle wound but she recovered quickly and luckily it didn't ruin our day. When we got home I asked Hallie if she had fun at the museum and she said, "No, it was too loud. Next time let's go to the library." I guess I should start to appreciate the fact that I have a two-year-old that enjoys a quiet afternoon spent at the library. She's not a natural born adventurer, but she is a natural born cutie!
