Daffodil Parade

Today we took the kids to the "Daffodil Parade" in the nearby town of Sumner. We went last year as well and it was Hallie's first experience with a parade. Let's just say it did not go well. We hoped this year that she would not be as traumatized by all of the noises, but unfornuately that wasn't the case. She was so excited as we waited for the parade to begin but as soon as she heard the motorcycles coming she immediately pulled her hat down over her eyes and covered her ears with her hands. It was pretty funny to watch. The funniest part of all was that she would only uncover her eyes whenever I told her that cheerleaders were coming, but it went right back on as soon as they passed. Luckily, after about fifteen minutes or so she adjusted to the noise level and took the hat off for good. From that point on she had a great time. She danced and sang and waved at everyone in the parade. Charlie sat on Jared's lap the whole time and didn't make a peep. He's such an easy going little guy. Hopefully next year no eyes or ears will be covered and Hallie can finally enjoy a parade from beginning to end.
