Well..... since it's nearing the end of September, I guess it's as good a time as any to talk about August. The only noteworthy thing the kids and I did last month was drive to Boise and spend a few weeks there. We had a great time as always but it was hot in Idaho, and I mean really hot. Luckily we managed to find lots of things to do to get a little relief from the heat. These included: swimming, ice cream, sprinklers, shaved ice and playing at our favorite park. We also celebrated Charlie's 2nd birthday while we were there with a little party at that favorite park of ours. It was so nice to have two full weeks to spend time with my family and for the kids to have some time to play with their cousins. As I sit here in cold, rainy, western Washington, I'm all of a sudden missing that warm Boise sun and wishing we could go back!

Since it was morning we decided against cupcakes and ice cream and opted for doughnuts and fruit... Yum!

Love these two pictures! Eating ice cream on warm summer nights in Idaho.
So the ten hour drive to Boise by myself with the kids was awful. I was super sick (pregnancy sick) and about three hours into the drive I wasn't sure if I was going to make it. I did make it but was nervous about the drive back so my super sweet husband flew to Boise just to make the ten hour drive home with me!
These pictures are a few we took on the drive home as we passed over Chinook Pass. Seriously, look how beautiful these are! The beauty of the mountains made the last few hours of our drive a little less miserable.
