Memorial Day Weekend

Wow, I can't believe it's been more than two months since I've updated our blog.  It seems like I remember a time in my life when I was really productive and always accomplishing things, but for some reason my productivity level is not what it used to be . It might have something to do with that husband of mine who has been traveling almost every week since January.  Oh well, the good news is I am back and re-committed to being a better blogger this summer.  It looks like I've got some catching up to do.....

Let's talk about Memorial Day weekend!  We wanted to plan a quick and easy weekend trip for Memorial Day, so we did what we always do when we can't think of anything better- we went to Seattle!  Unfortunately the weather was pretty miserable the whole weekend so most of our activities were limited to the indoor variety.  Luckily this gave us the opportunity to finally take the kids to the Seattle Children's Museum.  We've wanted to go there since we moved to this area and I can't believe it took us four years to get there.  Jared and I both gave it very high reviews.  The kids had a great time and there were enough interesting exhibits to keep us adults occupied too.

We did have a few hours of semi-clear skies one day to head over to Pike Place Market and get a treat from all of our favorite food booths.  We also finally saw the famous "gum wall" that I've been wanting to check out forever.  It was pretty disgusting but so neat at the same time.

We also managed to squeeze in some shopping, lots of eating out at our favorite Seattle/Bellevue restaurants, and a trip to Build a Bear Workshop for the first time.  Charlie showed no interest at all in the whole process so we didn't waste any money on him and instead got to watch Hallie who was thrilled and enjoyed every moment of creating her own stuffed animal.  She ended up with a very cute bunny who she appropriately named "Carrots."
