Pinkalicious Mother's Day Party

I found another fun local event in the newspaper that Hallie and I were able to attend this past Saturday. It was a Pinkalicious Mother's Day party based on the book "Pinkalicious" (which is one of Hallie's favorites). The party was at a little bookstore and I knew as soon as I saw the ad in the paper that it was something Hallie would really enjoy.

The girls were supposed to wear pink and I wasn't planning on buying her a new outfit for the party, but I saw this pink tutu on the clearance rack at Gymboree and thought it looked perfectly pinkalicious.

The party was really fun. We made flower pots, decorated tiaras, and frosted pink cupcakes. They also had all sorts of pink cookies and treats for us. We have been reading the books Pinkalicious and Purplicious nonstop since the party. I also just found out that there is a third book in the series "Goldilicious" coming out the end of this month.

It's always really special when Hallie and I get to spend time together and do "girly" things. I can only hope that she'll still be as excited to hang out with me when she's a teenager. I doubt it... so I'd better enjoy these moments while they last.

What a fun idea! I need to keep my eyes open better for stuff like that, Pinkalicious is one of my J's favorite books.
