Five Weeks of Family Fun...

Well, I've been such a slacker on our blog lately that I've got lots to cover in this post. Charlie is now six weeks old, but for the first five weeks of his life Jared was able to take paternity leave and be at home with us. In that five weeks time we were adjusting to life with a newborn, but we were also able to do a lot of fun things. My mom came out and stayed with us for two weeks and while she was here we went to NW Trek Wildlife Park. This was Charlie's first big outing and he did great. My dad also came out for a visit. We went to Seattle with him one day and he and Jared also went to the BYU/University of Washington football game. After all the family left we took Hallie to the Puyallup Fair for the first time. She had a blast! Now Jared is back at work and I am back to being a full-time mom. Things are finally starting to fall back into place and we are getting used to the fact that we are now a "family of four." We feel so blessed and lucky that Jared was able to take so much time off work. It made the transition of going from one to two children so much easier!

One a separate note, I just have to mention that Charlie weighed in at a whopping 11.1 pounds at his one month appointment. He gained three whole pounds in one month and is now in the 90th percentile for his weight. Hooray for chunky babies!

Hallie thought it was so hilarious that Charlie couldn't sit up straight for the picture. I don't think she understood that she was supposed to be holding him- too cute!

Too cute, indeed! Glad to hear the transition has gone smoothly. Fingers crossed that our doubling up on parenting in January will yield the same results.

So cute! I am so glad Jared got to be home with you all! So much fun! It does take a minute to get used to two kids but it isn't so bad! I love the pictures!

Man we miss you guys! Jared-did you get mugged leaving the UW-BYU game? What a crazy ending. And congratulations on #2, I'm sure Charlie is going to be a stud like his Daddy.
