Well, this post is a little behind schedule but such is life right? Jared had surgery to repair three hernias on the 3rd of July. His surgery was the reason why our 4th of July celebration consisted of some sparklers and a couple of fountains out in the street. He took a full week off of work to recover, which meant we did a whole lot of sitting around and watching movies for about seven days. On the seventh day I couldn't take being inside anymore, so I decided we needed to go somewhere. We packed a quick lunch and drove out to Mud Mountain Recreation area in Enumclaw. We had never been there before, but I had heard good things about it. Anyway, we ended up having such a fun afternoon together. The weather was beautiful so we just spread out our blankets, had a picnic lunch, and enjoyed relaxing in the sun. There was also this little fountain that Hallie had a great time splashing around in. I think we appreciated the surroundings so much more because we had been stuck inside all week and were ready to get out and do something fun.
On a separate note, may I just say that the weather here has been so amazing the past month. Seriously, everyday it's been in the upper 70's/low 80's, no humidity, with blue skies. We go out in the backyard every night and just enjoy the weather. We really only get about two months of summer in western Washington, so we're trying to really take advantage of how nice it's been lately. It's days like these that almost make those other ten months of rain worth it.... almost.
