Summer Vacation in Utah!

Okay, so I know the title of this post already sounds pretty lame, but Jared and I decided we wanted to spend our family vacation this year in Utah. I had not been there since we graduated from college, so we decided to fly down and spend a week reminiscing and visiting some of our favorite Utah locations. Our good friends the Burts, also drove up and spent a weekend in Park City with us. Hallie did get sick the last two days of the trip, but other than that little set back, we had a great time. Actually, Jared and I agreed on the way home that this was the most fun and most relaxing vacation we've ever had together. I think we had such a good time because we had no set plans. We were able to take our time, do what we wanted to do and see everything we wanted to see. Jared really enjoyed going back to BYU campus and he bought almost everything in the bookstore to prove it! The weather was also beautiful while we were there. You'll notice that we're all wearing sunglasses in the pictures because this was the most sun we had seen in a long, long, time. Here are some highlights from the trip.

Daddy and Hallie at the Gateway in Salt Lake

Seven months pregnant in Salt Lake! Please excuse my protruding navel. Some people refer to this as the "done" button, but unfortunately I still have two months to go.

On campus with our future BYU cheerleader.

Hallie went bowling for the first time in Provo and had so much fun. She told us many times that this was her favorite part of the trip.

What a big girl!

On Main Street in Park City.

Jared coming down the home stretch on the Alpine Slide.

Hallie and Porter Burt on a little airplane ride at the Park City Resort. This ride was a major feat for Hallie. I thought for sure that the minute it started the screaming would also begin, but I was wrong. She actually liked it! Hallie is finally starting to emerge from her painfully timid phase and take some chances. She even went swimming with Jared in the hotel pool! Seriously, this was a big week for her. Hooray for Hallie!

We had so much fun in PC with you guys. Thanks for including us in the family vacation fun. I'm loving the photo of Hallie-the-cheerleader. She is even more cute in person than she is in your blog postings (even sick). Keep us posted on the great name debate and all-things-Schrum. We love you guys!

Looks like fun! Hallie looks to cute in her cheerleader outfit, her hair back in a pony in all.
